Krishna says in Srimad Bhagavatam,
“I can be worshiped within the Cows by offerings
of grass and other suitable grains and paraphernalia for the pleasure and
health of the Cows”
The point here to understand is that cow care is not only religious act
but is also a noble act of humanity. It is a harsh but true
fact. Cows are dying and we are doing nothing about it. We see cows everyday
loitering near the garbage bins and roaming on roads without food or water.
Lack of natural habitats and grassy areas has forced cows to depend on
commercial areas for their food & shelter.
Cows are worshipped as
a holy creature here, and probably are the most loved one & cared for too. The
characteristic of cows as a milk provider, essential for human life, has
elevated its status to the level of a Godly figure and a mother. Being one of
the most harmless animals in the entire world, it gives so much without asking
much in return. As a religious figure, cows have special significance in
connection with one of the most loved and worshipped Gods in Hindu Mythology –
Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is also known as Gopala or Govinda which means
protector and friend of cows.
SavingCows is a Noble act of Humanity.
